Dear Colleague, The Physical Review Journal Club returns January 25, 2023 with an exclusive conversation with author Drew Riley (Swansea University) and colleagues on their recent Physical Review Applied paper "Quasi-Steady-State Measurement of Exciton Diffusion Lengths in Organic Semiconductors." In their paper, Riley and colleagues introduced an approach, named pulsed-photoluminescence quantum yield, to determine the diffusion length of excitons in organic semiconductors without any temporal measurements. Riley and colleagues will sit down with the Physical Review Journal Club to share how, using a Monte Carlo model, the dynamics within a thin-film semiconductor were simulated and the results analyzed using both pulsed-PLQY and TRPL methods. After a brief presentation, the authors will be available to answer all participant questions in a live question-and-answer session. Registration is free and a recording of the session will be distributed to all registrants. When: January 25, at 9:00 a.m. EST The paper under discussion: Quasi-Steady-State Measurement of Exciton Diffusion Lengths in Organic Semiconductors Drew B. Riley, Oskar J. Sandberg, Wei Li, Paul Meredith, and Ardalan Armin Phys. Rev. Applied 7, 024076 | The session will be moderated by: Zetian Mi, University of Michigan The Physical Review Journal Club events are live, interactive events allowing early-career scientists to discuss the latest published advances in physics with leaders in the field. There will be a short presentation, followed by an interactive session where the participating author will answer your questions. This is a rare opportunity to engage with the authors of important research developments in an "Ask Me Anything" format. During this interactive portion of the Journal Club, participants will be allowed to have their camera and microphone on and are encouraged to join in open discussion with the presenters. Please feel free to share this information with your institution and colleagues. Registration is free, and a video recording will be distributed to all registrants at the conclusion of the event. | | | |
